Generally speaking, pop star or pop artist is a term that gets thrown around a lot. In general there are three criteria that a person must fit in order to become known as a pop artist. The first is that they have to be in music that appeals to a wide fan base of people from about eleven year olds all the way up to people in their thirties who like to go out to night clubs, or just generate enough fans to survive in a single age group. Second on the list is that they have to be popular, hence the abbreviated term “pop”, among their audience, no matter the age group. Finally, they have to be able to measure up, musically, to other pop artists in the same general grouping as them and can’t just wing it and hope for the best. Because of their popularity, however, these artists generally get the wrong end of the stick in terms of publicity and it seems the media seeks out the dirt when it comes to these people. In fact, most pop stars become more widely known because of bad publicity. Recently, it seems that it is the new fashion to get into trouble, both by fans and the police to the extent that the artists name becomes common dinner table gossip. Nevertheless, there are ten notable names that aren’t likely to fade from the record charts and tabloids any time soon, whether they’ve been looked at in a bad light or not.

Michael Jackson

Miley Cyrus

Usher

Katy Perry

Elton John

R. Kelly

Mariah Carey

David Bowie

Kelly Clarkson

Pop Art Is Accessible To Everyone

One of the great things about pop art and pop music is that it truly is the “popular” art of the people. It is accessible to everyone. Of course, pop music is free for anybody to listen to on the radio, and modern digital technology allows very inexpensive downloads of just about any music ever recorded. You might think that pop art is more difficult to come by, but the average person can enjoy pop art just as easily as the richest private collector.

The best way to enjoy original pop art is to participate in its creation. There are no boundaries to creative artistic expression. If Andy Warhol can make a soup can label into art, then you are free to explore new ways of seeing things, too. Even if you don’t create your own art, you can participate in real-time artistic creations like the Gates in Central Park — even your local haunted house on Halloween could be viewed as a type of interactive work of pop artists.

Visit your local art museum to see original works by the world’s best pop artists. The price of admission is inexpensive entertainment for an afternoon, but many public museums even have a free day once a week or once a month. There is nothing quite like seeing famous works of art up close where you can take in the scale and texture and imagine seeing through the eyes of the artist.

If you want to buy pop art to decorate your home or office, you don’t have to pay a fortune for it. Many local artists produce works of astounding quality that you can buy for surprisingly little money. You can also go to online sites like eBay to see what you can find. A search today in the eBay art category for “Andy Warhol” returns over 700 results. This includes very affordable items listed for under five dollars all the way up to original pieces priced in the tens of thousands of dollars. So, you can spend a little or spend a lot and enjoy the works of your favorite pop artist.

Why Celebrities are Such Muses for Pop Artists

[Facebook] [Twitter]

One of the biggest reasons why pop art is such an enormous trend is because people feel as though they can really relate to it. And this is one reason why pop artists are starting to use celebrities more and more as their subjects. Pop artists use celebrities in their art by collecting photographs or clippings of a particular celebrity, or many celebrities, and shaping and forming them all to turn them into something else. For instance, a pop artist may use several pictures of Bono, the lead singer of U2, and turn them into a giant AIDS ribbon. This would make the statement not only that AIDS is a pressing issue for society, but it also signifies Bono’s high dedication to the cause and finding a cure.

When pop artists use celebrities in their work, it’s more than simply making a collage of their different pictures and images. It is used to make a statement of that particular celebrity or of celebrities in general. Pop artists sometimes also use pictures of different celebrities to create one whole picture. They might take the head of one celebrity and place it on the body of another. This type of work is also used to make a statement about something the pop artist feels passionate about.

The trend to include celebrities among their work is becoming so big among pop artists because it’s these celebrities that are so identifiable and relatable to the general public. Because these same faces are always bombarding the media, and because their personal lives are so open, people feel as though they truly know these celebrities and therefore, are much more interested in them.

Pop Artist Music

Many people have heard of pop art but part of this revolution of artistic expression is music. Many of the pop music of today is heavily influenced by many of the things we have seen in the past making each and every piece more eccentric than the previous ones. Some of the artists that fit these trends in the music world today are Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, The Pussycat Dolls, The Black Eyed Peas, and Britney Spears. They have all continued the trend of using their artistic expression within music in the Pop Artist trend. Music is as good of a canvas as any other art form and is usually the one that everyone could experience firsthand without having to wonder what it means right away. You could simply let yourself feel the beat and dance alongside the melody and remember the chorus of the music without any effort and you will be singing it over and over in your mind until you let it out.

There are several places online where you could get your music from pop artists very cheap and that includes specialized services as well as many of the different accessible download sites that offer the music for a low price in various formats. The hard thing is that you never really know what is legal to use for downloads of such music because even illegal services may charge you to use their programs and give you a false sense of protection from being served a notice that you owe the artist damages in court because you downloaded the music illegally. Make sure that you know which services are real and which are not by fully reading their terms of service and license agreement. You will want to stay away from anything that has typographical errors or is written in bad English!

What Is Pop Art and Who Are Pop Artists

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Pop artists are a type of artists that focus on using popular media objects and use them in art to create a discussion or spark deep thoughts regarding it. Popular pop artists include Andy Warhol, and Tom Wessleman. Of course, there are many others from around the world that focused on popular culture within their own countries.

Pop artists were popular in the 1950s, and it was a big movement that shook the art world forever. There was a lot of dispute on whether or not it was really “art”. Today many pop art pieces sell for millions because they are practically priceless. In the art world pop artists are considered the end of the modern art movement, but also the beginning of post modernism art. Almost 60 years from when it all began, pop artists still exist and take part in reviving the practice.

A large portion of what makes pop artists a “pop artist” is the irony and ability to see past what something really is. To the naked eye a can of soup is a can of soup, but an artist may be able to turn it into something that can be speculated and examined at a different level. Pop art is about inventing, being creative, and expanding upon what you already know. Comic book art is also considered pop art, and is frequently used for comic books, even today. Many pop artists also incorporate parodies, satires, and other humorous (but not obviously so) elements.

Even though the pop art craze is over, new pop artists are pursuing a revival of the art, by creating new and fresh designs. Pop art is a fabulous way to express yourself, or just to decorate your home. It has a minimalism feel, and looks chic with mostly anything.
